Here you stand again
The walls are closing in
Numbness flowing though your veins
Relief of horror is the pain
The lord of torment rules alone
Summons you before his throne

Scars unnumbered tell the tale
Battles in black mist and ruby spray
Bloody bargains with the knife
Desperate just to feel, feel alive
The cut, it's done
And, for a while, peace it brings
Your blood runs down
In crimson streams

To dry like earth
The razorblade, a trusted friend
Seducing coolness, shiny steel
Brilliant edges and smooth feel
Will ease the hot and burning skin
The wounds not yet healed
The stains not yet gone
But the horrors
Soon awake and are once more afoot again
