Bright White Light

In between the messages
There's a stabbing at the numb
A subliminal emptiness
That flickers off and on
You say you saw the very thing
And you wonder what it meant
It was a bright white light

The sun doesn't shine here
It just signifies the day
We take this life for granted
And we throw this world away
Using up the good things
Until we wonder where they went
