It brings me sadness
Just remembering getting home
From a tiring day of work
She would hold me very tight
And kiss me tenderly
We sat awhile, and she'd tell me all the news
How she took the kids to school
And she found them at the zoo
Thorowing peanuts to the bears

Oh, this remembrance keeps reflecting on my mind
When the days ran calm and fine
And I had her by my side
Swearing love eternally

Little by little our sky was getting darker

Then one fine morning with a torn and aching heart
We decided we should part
For it was late to restart

The kids were with me as your taxi drove away
I had nothing more to say
So I put them all to sleep
